The Inspiration Factor

At Prime Mover I deal with inspirational people every day, people who have turned their lives, health and fitness on it’s head and are now looking forward to a much (hopefully) longer, happier and fruitful life.

I know these people are inspirational to more than just me because they’ve then introduced new people to the ways of Prime Mover, they’re now passed the ‘Join It’ phase, they’ve also ‘Learnt It’ and now they’re ‘Living It’ to full effect!

We have people who have completely changed their old (bad) habits and have seen their knee pain completely disappear (MG), there’s people who are now so fit they can enter regional races and feel confident not only that they’ll finish but with a respectable time too! (SR)

Some people’s Before and After shots are so dramatic outsiders must think they’ve had surgery (WC), whatever the outcome we have a lot of people that are wowing a lot of other people, I just love to be part of it!

Now in about 11 weeks time there will be a new little Mover on the scene and as she gets nearer I’m starting to think, how can I be the best inspiration possible?

For starters I don’t want her being embarrassed by her old man on Sports Day! My new schedule will cover all the bases, strength, size, power, flexibility and endurance. Focussing on one aspect has left my endurance sorely lacking, which was exposed in last weeks Endurer Event and my Flexibility is about the same as the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz!

Don’t be a Fat Dad! For me the key to this is stress management, with everything I have going on stress can easily take hold and that’s when slips in my diet occur, yes even me!

Stress management will coincide nicely with my new flexibility routine, I know Rennie will ask the question ‘when are you going to fit this in?’ but as they say on RyanAir ‘fit your own mask before helping others’ – it’s time I followed that advice.

I want her to be proud of the business I’ve built, which by the time she has any idea what’s going on should have helped literally thousands of people improve their lives, much further afield than just Sheffield too.

I want to answer any questions she has, so from today the TV is limited to one week night evening and one weekend evening a week, education is the priority and watching mindless s**t won’t further my knowledge, no matter how amusing it is.

Have time – this goes for her and her Mum, organising myself better so when I’m home I’m actually there! Time goes so quickly and the older I get the faster it goes, I don’t want to miss a thing with her!

I’m sure there’s plenty of other areas I can shape up on but if I can nail this to start with I’ll be a good way along the road to inspiring the most important person in my life!
